They left Khartoum to join her relatives in a new country South Sudan. To face a new reality she had never experienced as a single mother raised in poverty in the country and trying to put her kids in schools that she could not afford.

The only way to pay for here kids’ school fees is to walk up early in the morning with a group of sisters to buy two to three baskets of vegetables for resale. She can sell her vegetables four times a month for 10 to 20 thousand a South Sudan pounds, equivalent to $50 per month. But still, She has to come up with some other income to cover feeding, rent, and other expenses. We met Na Poni at the local market in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, to tell her story. BC Global offered her assistance to help boost her business, selling vegetables. Na Poni’s story is just one of many stories among hundreds of single mothers who are starving and short in providing the basic needs for their children.
